Introduction to Loving You From A Far
We have the fortunate blessing that letters exchanged between two people many years ago were saved for more than 50 years. This is definitely a family history treasure and keepsake. "Loving You From A Far" is a blog that will be dedicated to the posting of the letters which our mother Rita (Aunti Tia, Grandma Tia) wrote to our father Bob (Grandpa, or Uncle Bob), while he was away on his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
After Bob completed his mission, Rita and Bob were married, sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
After their sealing, Bob left for the military duty. The letters that will be included will also be those they exchanged until Rita was able to go to Germany and be with Bob. While there, they had their first daughter Shelly.
Not knowing what occurred during their life at the time, for me, their son, it will be great to read of their experiences, their testimony, and their desire to serve our Heavenly Father in his work.
I found that some letters were hard to read because I did not know how to read my parents writing. After reading multiple letters, reading became easier. There are some letters which are typed and are the easiest to read. Please remember the age of the letters and thus time may have faded some words.
Be prepared for a wonderful, loving adventure of two people who love one another. May you feel the blessings we have felt as we have read their letters. Enjoy!!
